Seasonal Flowers and How to Care for Them

Seasonal Flowers and How to Care for Them

Different flowers bloom in different seasons, and each type needs a little special care. Knowing how to handle your seasonal bouquet can help it stay beautiful for longer.

Spring flowers – tulips, daffodils, hyacinths

These love cool temperatures. Keep them away from direct sunlight and warm spots. Tulips especially keep growing in water, so trim them every two days.

Summer flowers – roses, sunflowers, lilies

These bold blooms love water. Check the vase daily and refill often because they drink a lot. Remove pollen from lilies to prevent staining and keep petals fresh.

Fall flowers – chrysanthemums, dahlias, marigolds

These flowers are hardy but still need clean water. Cut stems at an angle and remove extra leaves. They last longer if kept cool and away from heaters.

Winter flowers – amaryllis, poinsettia, paperwhites

Winter blooms are sensitive to drafts and extreme heat from radiators. Keep them in stable, cool rooms and make sure the water stays fresh and clear.

No matter the season, remember the basics: fresh water, trimmed stems, and a clean vase. Treat your flowers right, and they’ll reward you with days of color and joy.
